Who we are

What we collect from this website

There is no contact form on this site. Enquiries reach us by phone or email, so the only personal data we hold from an enquiry is what you choose to put in an email or tell us on a call. We use it to answer you and, if it becomes a job, to carry out the work.

Beyond that, the website itself collects only the anonymous usage measurements described below.

Cookies and measurement

We keep this deliberately small. The table below is everything.

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views, referrers and page speed. It sets no cookies and does not track you between sites or between visits, so it runs for everyone and needs no consent.
  • Google Analytics 4 — tells us which pages and services people actually look at. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*, up to two years) and it only runs if you press Accept on the cookie bar. If you decline, or simply ignore the bar, the Google script is never loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
  • pdsl_consent — our own cookie, six months, which remembers your answer to the cookie bar so we stop asking. It holds nothing but that answer and a timestamp.
  • Cloudflare also sits in front of this site to serve it quickly and block attacks, and may set a strictly necessary cookie for that purpose.
  • Typefaces are served from this website itself, not from Google Fonts, so simply loading a page does not hand your IP address to a font provider.

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Who your data goes to

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Where analytics is accepted, data is processed by Google Ireland Limited; hosting and delivery are provided by our web host and by Cloudflare. Fonts and images are served from this site itself. Within the Ranger Fire & Security Group, your details are shared only where it is needed to deliver or support your systems.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept while there is a live enquiry or relationship and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records tied to installed and maintained systems, including certification, are kept for as long as we are required to for compliance and warranty reasons. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
